Tangier

  • The Tangier gold deposit is situated approximately 90 kilometres east of Halifax and comprises 113 mineral claims. The property is owned 100% by Acadian Mining with no overriding royalty.

  • Documented production from historical mining in the district for the period between 1861 and 1936 was 29,360 ounces from 57,350 tons.

  • The gold bearing zones are located on the steep south limb of the Tangier Anticline and included 70 or more bedding-parallel veins distributed over a stratigraphic interval of approximately 300 metres. Continuity of individual veins has been established for 1.5 kilometres or more and the anticline structure has been traced for over 7 kilometres.

  • Recent underground development between 1986-1990 and 1994-1999 in the Blueberry Hill area includes a modern ramp to 145 metres depth and over 5 kilometres of development. Recorded production for this period was 1659 ounces.

Tangier

  • A total of 203 surface and underground drill holes totaling 20,505 metres occur on the property.

Tangier

  • The property has an Environmental Assessment Approval which provides for processing of 400 tonnes per day.

  • A resource estimate for the Blueberry and Strawberry Hill area is based on historical underground chip sampling and diamond drill holes, with all data weighted to a 1.2 m width. Mineral resources were estimated using the polygonal method of volume calculation applied to vertical longitudinal sections.

  • The area between Blueberry and Strawberry Hill has not been intensely evaluated and is a highly prospective area to define additional resources.

  • Underground development at the Blueberry Hill mine was halted to the west at the Copper Lake Fault. Limited drilling west of the fault has established the presence of the mine sequence in this area making this a prospective area to define additional resources.

  • Although this property is currently considered an underground project the company is also investigating the potential for open pit mineralization.
